Pablo Palazuelo, Abstract, 1955 - triptych
Pablo Palazuelo (1916-2007) was an influential Spanish artist who was important in the development in the identity of Modern Spanish art. He was a long-term collaborator with Gallerie Maeght, the creators of Derriere Le Mirroir. His early works were bold and figurative, largely inspired by Juan Gris and Pablo Picasso. However, over time his pieces became increasingly focused on pure abstract forms, infused by his interest in Eastern art. His work was shown widely throughout his life, until his death in 2007. His art is held in public collections around the world, including at the Guggenheim in New York.
